EDUCATION

The Goddard School will open a franchise in Towson at 807 Gleneagles Ct. this summer set to include 18 classrooms and two gyms. The upscale early childhood learning group is based in King of Prussia, Pa. This will be its 17th Maryland location. Read more at the Baltimore Business Journal.

 

TRAVEL

BWI Marshall Airport is seeking an expedited procurement from the Maryland Board of Public Works for a $60-million, 55,000-square-foot expansion of its Concourse A that would ultimately give five additional gates to Southwest including new passenger waiting areas and concessions. If approved, work would begin in January and wrap up in 2020 when five existing gates will close to accommodate construction of a new baggage handling system. Read more at Washington’s Top News.

 

INFLATION

The Labor Department announced that the consumer price index was up 0.1 percent in June versus the year prior, but inflation increased 2.9 percent from the same time last year, the largest annual gain since February 2012. Read more at Long Island Business News.
