NY-based Annaly Capital Management plans to purchase of real estate investment trust MTGE Investment Corp. for $900 million in cash and stock. The Bethesda-based REIT’s portfolio consists of $6.6 million in assets as of Dec. 31. Read more at the Baltimore Business Journal.

 

REAL ESTATE

JBG Smith has sold the Bowen Building at 875 15th St. NW to JPMorgan Chase for $140 million. JPMorgan plans to begin renovations to the 231,000-square-foot building next year and open its regional headquarters there in 2021. Read more at BisNow.

 

TRANSIT

D.C. rolled out a fleet of 14 battery-powered Circulator buses built by Burlingame, California-based Proterra through a partnership with DDOT, WMATA and DCST. Estimates indicate the buses will displace more than 88,900 gallons of diesel per year and eliminate more than 243,980 pounds of CO2 emissions annually. Read more at Technical.ly DC.
