Cornerstone at Hauppauge Projects Gets $20 Million Financing

Terwilliger & Bartone Properties has secured $20 million in construction financing from M&T Bank for its new rental complex in Hauppauge. The $30 million project, on which construction began in September, will bring 98 apartments to a 9-acre site on Joshua’s Path just off Motor Parkway. Read more at Long Island Business News.

NJIT Created Engineering and Technology School

The New Jersey Institute of Technology is creating the School of Applied Engineering and Technology within the university’s Newark College of Engineering, it announced Tuesday. Designed to meet spiraling demand in the job market for applied engineering technologists in industries reliant upon production, manufacturing, process control and instrumentation, the new school will emphasize internships, co-ops and apprenticeships within private industry and government, according to NJIT. Voters Approve $500 Million State Loan for Schools

New Jersey voters on Tuesday approved a proposal to borrow $500 million to expand vocational schools and bolster security across K-12 school districts, according to projections from the Associated Press. Voters were asked whether they support the Securing Our Children’s Future Act, a $500 million bond measure that also includes funding for county colleges and improving water systems in K-12 schools.
