Canadian-based Triple Five Aviation Industries has purchased the former Dowling College campus at Brookhaven Airport in Shirley for $14 million with plans to bring aviation programming back to Long Island. The 105-acre site includes a 70,645-square-foot dorm, athletic complex and a 65,000-square-feet of office and classroom space, which also features an airplane hangar. Orlando-based Westgate Resorts purchased the former 23-story Hilton New York Grand Central in the Tudor City neighborhood in Midtown East, marking the timeshare group’s first expansion into Manhattan. JOBS

The latest data released by the Department of Labor shows that unemployment figures are at an all time low of 3.8 percent, the lowest since records began in 2000. The number of available jobs in April rose 1 percent to 6.7 million from 6.6 million in March as employers have consistently added jobs over the last 92 months. Read more at Washington’s Top News.
