Gina Ross Murdoch
Early on in her career, Gina Ross Murdoch visited a woman in a nursing home who was severely affected by multiple sclerosis. She gave the woman a present, and the woman said she didn’t need it. “She explained that I was her gift, everything I did for her and those affected with MS were a gift,” says Murdoch, who is president and CEO of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. “That experience ingrained in me the incredible power of helping others – that life is not about tangible things but it is about human caring and compassion.” Murdoch and her organization continue to impact lives through the services it offers, such as its MRI program, which underwrites the cost of an MRI, providing critical assistance and allowing people to begin treatment. And, with a background in politics, Murdoch makes an impact in her community by serving on the town council and town planning board.
