Himmelrich Associates’ renovation of the historic Winslow Parker Metal Building at 333 W. Ostend St. is nearly complete with three floors of office space on the upper levels and a 400-seat event venue on the first floor. Canton-based Barcoding, Inc. has acquired Danforth Systems as it expands it supply chain automation offerings to Texas. The company is also renovating a former garment factory on Bank St. in Highlandtown where it plans to open a local office. Read more at Technical.ly Baltimore.

 

HEALTHCARE

Maryland-based Emergent BioSolutions entered into an agreement to acquire specialty vaccine manufacturer PaxVax for $270 million. Emergent provides the U.S. government with infectious-disease vaccines and will now add treatments for cholera and typhoid to the mix. Read more at The Washington Post.

 

FINANCE

Fairfax-based FVCBankcorp Inc. started trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market last week with its IPO priced at $20 a share. The Virginia-chartered community bank agreed to raise an additional $10 million in capital as a condition of its acquisition of Rockville-based Colombo Bank for $33.3 million last month.
